Did you know?

  • That you should never buy skates that are too big to grow into as this can affect skating development?

  • When drying your skates after a session the insoles should be taken out for more effective drying?

  • Your helmet and facemask must be CSA certified?

  • If you paint your helmet or remove the CSA sticker your helmet is no longer CSA certified?

  • You should not apply stickers to the helmet as some stickers have glue that can harm the helmet and could effect both CSA certification and the manufacturers warranty?

  • There are specific facial protectors for the player depending on their age, and you should ask your sports store or refer to the Hockey Canada rulebook to determine which is best for you?

  • If you remove ear protection from your helmet it is no longer CSA certified and therefore does not meet Hockey Canada requirements?

  • Your throat protector must be CSA certified and cannot be altered in any way?

  • As a rule of thumb your hockey stick should reach between your chin and your mouth if you are in street shoes?

  • In a "ready stance" with the stick's blade flat on the ice, there should be no gap between the ice and the bottom edge of the blade? If so, try a different lie to remove this gap.

Name Bars

1) The 'Name Bar' must be on a separate piece of material similar to that of the jersey. No name may be silk screened directly onto the jersey.

2) The letter size should be between 2 1/2 " to 3" in height. BB / AA Program color shall be:
Home (White) Jersey - Black letters on white material
Away (Black) Jersey - Gold letters on black material

3) The name on the bar shall be the same as that which appears on the player card. No abbreviations or nicknames will be permitted.

4) The choice of name bar use shall be a team decision. However, if the choice is to use name bars, all members of the team must participate. We do not want a situation where some members on a team have name bars and some do not.
The exception to this requirement shall be in the use of affiliated players in the AA Program. Whereby the player called up may use a spare jersey of the higher level team which would not have a name bar affixed.

5) The name bar must be sewn on and removed professionally without damage to the jersey.

6) The name bars must be removed before the jerseys are returned to the equipment room.

7) Any damage to jersey from name bar being sewn or removed, the team will be charged the replacement cost.
