February 3, 2012
EMHA Coach Requirements Please remember that it is mandatory for any coach, trainer, assistant coach, guest coach or volunteer who is on the ice to wear a CSA approved helmet. Please see the EMHA website for a list of Coach Certification Requirements that must be in place by December 31st. Click on Coaches/Refs, then Coaching Clinics, then on the applicable Division. Click here for Clinic Program information. Click here for Clinic Schedules. Games sheets must be sent in to the appropriate Director within 24 hours.
Important Dates Prior to the first league game,
teams must have the following handed in to their Registrar: Affiliation forms must be completed and originals handed in to your Registrar by November 10th at the latest.
EMHA Rules EMHA's current Operating Directives can be downloaded or viewed/searched here.
Affiliation Rules Click here to download the Affiliation Form. It MUST be filled out in full and the original handed in to your Registrar on or before November 10th. Affiliated Players are not eligible to skate with your team until they have been entered on you Team Sheet and approved by EMHA. Your Registrar will email you an updated copy of your Team Sheet once this has been processed. Teams can affiliate a full team in a tier below them, or up to 19 players. If, through the tiering process, an affiliated player or team moves to the same tier as the team they have been affiliated to, the affiliated player/team is no longer eligible while at that tier. Coaches are to ensure the required permission has been obtained from the affiliate player’s team management each time the player is needed (including for a practice). Affiliates are only to be used when the team is missing a player due to injury, illness, suspension, or another form of absenteeism. Affiliates CAN be used during Playoffs, but NOT during Minor Hockey Week. An affiliate player may not play more than 5 games after January 10th. Prior to January 10th, a player is not restricted on the number of games they can play provided permission was obtained from the players coach or manager. An affiliate goaltender must actually participate in a game to count as a game played. The timekeeper and/or referee should verify this on the back of the game sheet when it occurs. All other affiliates, named on a game sheet, will have a game charged against their record regardless if they participate in the game or not. Please see page 25 of the current EMHA Operating Directives for further details.
Travel See the Policies and Permits page for KC's Travel Policies. Click here to apply for an EMHA Travel Permit.
Special Events Special Event Permits must be applied for through EMHA (click here). Events could be off-ice team activities, team outings, having a Guest Coach from another team, etc.
